Meet David Rall, Superintendent's Student of the Month for January
Updated

Congratulations to David Rall, the Superintendent’s Student of the Month for January. David is a senior at Savannah Arts Academy.  David is a member of Tri-M Society (Music Honors Society), National Society of High School Scholars, Beta Club and Spanish Honors Society.  He has demonstrated significant progress in math by consistently achieving higher grades on assignments and tests, showing a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and moving from basic comprehension to applying advanced problem-solving techniques.

Susan Tutan-Gonzales nominated David for this honor and told us David has a fantastic work ethic and excellent study habits, including regular practice and seeking help when needed, which has contributed to his overall success. In addition, he is dually enrolled in college classes for a second year. She continued, “He’s an extraordinary young man who has never allowed his challenges to hinder his achievements; in fact, they have become his superpower!  I have witnessed him take command of his education by confidently advocating for himself and pursuing advanced learning opportunities. He enthusiastically embraces every chance to improve himself and deepen his understanding of the world around him. With a positive attitude and a fearless approach to hard work, he continually exemplifies resilience and determination.

In addition to his academic successes, David actively takes part in school sports and community service. He participates in varsity track and cross country, as well as studying martial arts.  He also volunteers at Oatland Island Wildlife Center, helping with activities and events, and has entertained residents at area assisted living facilities by playing piano and singing.

When asked what motivates him to succeed, David responded "I just want to constantly improve myself in all areas so that I can succeed in all my future endeavors. I want to show people that even when you have a disability you can still do great things and succeed!"

David will continue his pursuit of a college degree by taking classes in the areas of science, music, and business. He will be taking home several gifts from our sponsors, including Members First Credit Union, Advertising Specialties, Georgia Southern University, Gulfstream, and more.  In addition, David and his ELA class will receive copies of his favorite book donated by our sponsor E. Shaver Bookseller.  David asked to give his book to the English class he most enjoyed at SAA, as he finished high school English last year and has been dual enrolled in English classes in college!  I think we can accommodate that request, David!  Again, congratulations to David, his family, and the Savannah Arts Academy family!  And special thanks to his nominator, Susan Tutan-Gonzales, and school principal, Dr. Anna Belue.
